Sorry if this is the wrong secti0on for posting this but I want to ask:
The plastic logos that are on the boot of the car, the ones that says FIAT and BRAVA SX and the ones on the side 1.6 or 100_16v.... These are chrome painted and mine started to wear off revealing a dull blue plastic.... I was wondering, if there a way to paint them and regain the lost reflective effect?
I want this also for my front grill...
Thanxall.

chrome spray paint would be best, or a touch up pen if you prefer, altho i personally recommend debadging

Are there chrome touch up pens out there? Do they give that mirror effect?
What do you mean by "debadging"? and how can I do it?
Thanks Jug.

"I was wondering if there were some kind of paint to give back their mirror effect"

chrome spray paint is the best option if you want a smooth mirror finish. they sell it everywhere, even supermarkets often have chrome. i like a darker chrome personaly, my alloys are a silver & dark chrome mix. works nicely

This is what I could find, so I bought it for 8 euros... it's called chromura.

http://www.macota.it/php/catalog/product_info_macota.php?products_id=311

I tried it on pieces of plastic but it didn't give me a bright mirror finish.... although the salesman said they use it for such things..... Maybe I'm using it wrong, and I also noticed that it's easily scratched when set......
Please can you give me some pointers? I haven't done such things before :)
Thanx.

yo can tell the colour from the top of the lid, that one clearly isn't reflective. pop in to your local halfords/tescos and pick some proper chrome stuff up you can tell it by the chrome lid :p anything that isn't reflective on the lid isn't going to be reflective in the tin.

Hey OXCiD3, thanx for replying, the can I bought has a bright reflective mirror-like lid, that's why I bought it.
Do you have any directions for me? :)

Going to try something like this on the FIAT badge on the rear of the Tipo. It's losing its silver. How have you masked off the blue areas?
I haven't done it on the badge yet.... but I reckon I'd have to use adhesive tape or maybe even some sort of putty to mask it..... what do you think?

The important thing is to be able to obtain the silvery finish first. The can I bought didn't produce it although it should have.... That's why I'm asking for directions :)

i've been a dozen times and never actually bought anything, i just enjoy a chat about the failings of fiat, or a heated debate as they may call it, although they often admit thier cars are crap which is more than i can say for the average ford dealership. i really wanted a new sunroof seal for my bravo but they had none is stock so they missed their one chance to get some money out my pocket.

its easier to remove a good badge from a scrap car, and cheaper.

I looked for some yesterday when I was getting the headlight motor.... I could find a single one which still had the silvery finish....
Besides, as you always say, Doing things like that yourself gives you a big feeling of satisfaction ;)
Am I right?(y)

exactly, DIY is the whole point of modifying, anyone with a bank loan can get a car looking how they want by paying a bodyshop to do all the work, but to make it your own car, and to learn anything, you have to get your hands dirty (and injured usually lol)

Exactly what I'm talking about.... So Camon guys, some advice please:)

the problem with chrome paint is that you can't get a mirror finish, it will never be like the original chrome, i'd say go for matt black, its way easier to get a perfect finish, and chrome is for grandads with hondas anyway
