My Marea ( 1998 weekend ELX TD 100) is a good car except for a very annoying issue of the poor beam & intensity of the dipped headlights. These comprise of a lenze of about 6 cm inside the headlight unit and I have tried the higher light output 'philips' halogen bulb, same 55 watts as original which helped... but only a little.
The headlights work OK ,nothing technically faulty with them, it is just a design issue, and noticed the newer Puto seems to have similar units & issues; maybe the older dipped units from the bravo/brava which have refectors for the dipped and main beam lights are better but would they work , could these be retro-fitted or has anyone else experienced this and found a fix?
I would greatly appreciate a solution as it can get dangerous driving along bendy, country roads with these poor lights!!

Marea headlights are generally better than Bravo/a.

You can get good results with ultra bright lamps.

Let us know how you get on. :D
