(i know i`m kinky that way ;))has any got a link to where i can get 1? i`ve got to get a new gear knob also?can anyone help please....

Eeerrr jug, that was easy, emailed a few breakers & got a phone call this morning,he wanted £225.i sed NO way,he sed how much do you want to pay,i sed £80-90,he then sed £100 & i sed ok.he`s even in london & is going to deliver it by hand.(y)

£100  you must really really really want a leather wheel. i'd have got a momo wheel if i was going to spend that much.

@ jug,i`m not a boy racer i`m an old fuddy duddy

and yes i do like my leather wheel & i guess its nice to have the airbag as well :D

WOW, £100!!!!! I could of sold you mine for £100, its still sat in its box. Only paid £35 for it. Its Mint. Anyway will be fitting it to my car sometime soon.

As per the other post on airbags, remember to disconnect your battery first and the light is liable to be on anyway everafter ;) Gearknob, assume it is a pull-reverse system? I know some early models weren't. If so, gearknobs for this system are easy enough to find, just ensure it is designed for pull-reverse. Ebay is as ever handy for cheap bits like that (y)

Wrong Helz. The airbag light wont come on aslong as you remove the airbag fuse aswell as disconnect the battery for atleast 15mins. I've driven with the airbag out of the car and it never stayed on when i reconnected everything.

in theory the airbag light must stay on, it cant switch itself off, if the battery is connected without the airbag fuse in, or an airbag, there is bound to be a fault recognised when an airbag systems check is perfomed the next time the ignition is turned on. to prevent the light from turning on all the system checks must pass, including a check to see if the fuse is fine and an airbag is present and connected. you must have voodoo magic in your airbag ecu.

Voodoo Magic i doubt, LOL.

Its Fiat Electrics. I had the airbag out of the car, the steering wheel on but no nut fitted and drove the car like this, airbag light came on while i drove, but when i stoped, i refitted the airbag and the light went off.

Easy enough a job. Just make sure the fuse is out. Some people dont remove the fuse and need to have the airbag light reset.

ah so removing the fuse prevents the airbag ecu from storing a fault, but does not prevent the main ecu from displaying a fault light, very clever. i've heard a fishy tale that you can "flash" the airbag ecu by reversing the positive and negative for a couple of seconds, havent tried it yet but i will one day soon, curiosity always get the better of me. i believe thats how the fiat computers reset the ecu, so in theory you could do the same yourself.

Its cheaper to get a new airbag ecu from a scrap yard than it is to get your airbag ecu reset, but the chances of finding an airbag ecu that doesnt have faults stored is slim.
