General Size Question

Hi all.
I wonder if 175/65 R14 tyres fit ok to 6x14 alloys.
Any experience ?

Yes they're fine. Got a 175/65R14 as a spare wheel for the Marea. 185/60R14 would be my choice for steel wheels though.

Thx,i fancy some allesio(?) alloys but dont want to change the diam.
The tyres are almost new,so i think of the above solutiom,any sug. are wellcome.

Go for some 15" alloys with 195/50R15 tyres. It's a very cheap size.

175 are the narrow side of approved tyres for a 14" wheel.

If you have nearly new tyres then keep them. No need to waste new tyres.

Well,its only an SX80V16. I think 195s are mostly for show offs at these cc.

My 80 SX used to have 175/65/14s with standard 14ins steel wheels

Not on steel wheels you won't. Alloys and thin sidewalls are a different matter.

You will notice the extra grip from 195s which is good no matter what size engine you have - after all its still a bit car which needs just as much grip when going around corners fast.

Because that was the size Fiat provided the car with I now have 15ins alloys with 195/50/15, and even they look fairly small to be honest.

OK we are talking about alloys,but let me tell this:
I have experienced THE slip going just fast during a summer rain,at that time i had a peugeot 205 with 185/60R14 and i still believe that it happened due to the wider tyres...
After some months i also found out that i was in need for a new steering system + some other bits

We live at dif. countries , at Greece 50s last very little and cost an arm and two legs.
After all when you are on a tight budget you count every pennie for every mile.
