Hey!
I have a 2001 X-reg punto, new shape, standard model. I have the stereo that comes as standard and a 10 disk CD changer under the passenger seat(blauplunkt) along with the standard (crappy!) speakers that came with the car.
Can you please help me with any (or all!) of the following? I want to improve the sound quality without spending too much...
1. If I buy speakers - for the front - would I get 17cm (6.5 inch) 2-way speakers? Will they fit easily with my standard stereo, will they still work along with the tweeters, and will the sound quality be improved or is the Punto's standard stereo too rubbish?!
2. If I want to jack in the CD Changer and buy a CD player, will my Punto have a standard fitting for any new stereo (Sony, Kenwood etc...) or is it awkward to fit?

one of the punto guys will tell you the standard size fot the punto speakers and whether they slot straight in,they should work alongside the tweeters no probs.as regards your head unit.if it is bigger than a standard(din) size unit then all you need is a replacement fascia(any ice stockist) to give you a slot for any head unit.you should be able to buy a blauplunkt head unit that would allow you to keep your autochanger or theres always someone looking to retro fit a changer.personally i would go for an autochanger which i prefer and a minidisc headunit but its a personal thing.re post in the punto section and someone will fill in the blanks
