Hi all,i have just bought a bravo 20v hgt and it needs tyres the problem is im not 100% sure on what size, curently it has 195/55 15s on the back and 185/55 15s on the front.i rang 2 garages for quotes and one said i needed 185s the other 195s .The handbook with the cars says 195/55 15s or 205/50 15s.Anyone know the right ones?
Ive noticed the handling seems a little bit off i'm asssuming its down to the tyres being diffrent.I had all the suspension etc checked b4 i bought it which was sound. So i'll go for tyres(which it needs)then track it up.
I cant go wrong really its a 97 20v hgt 77000 miles,full service for £1000,bargain.
it needs a couple of bits fixing but i posted on the parts forum about them.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks Anthemmaster

I have 195/55 R15V on mine. 205/50 would look nice.

Thinking of going for 16" and 205/45 at some time.[8D]

the 185/55s have a smaller radius than the 195/55s
should look a bit funny?
are 185/55/15 just for smaller engined bravos?
and 205/50 for larger?

I have 195/55/15 on mine... the car handling is quite good, and looks nice too. Going to 205/45/16 would give the car an even better handling, and a much cooler look, but it has two inconvenients... the distance from the wheel to the floor is less, and the car will probably lower a bit, that means that you have to be careful about the holes on the road, and sidewalks and stuff like that. The other inconvenient, is that the maximum speed will lower a bit too. The larger the tire, the better is the handling and the lower is the speed. So... is your engine a blast? put on 205's... no? keep the 195's...

It's only my opinion ;)

Hi,

The difference between a 195/55/15 and a 205/45/16 is only 7 revolutions per mile and the car will be 0.1" lower. IMHO you won't notice the difference.
