cant get to inside of door to have a look coz the screws for the trim are impossible to get at when door is shut.lock still moves but will not open!.. help!!!!!!!

just wondering if youve tried opening the other door to see if the central locking still works? have you tried pulling the lock pin up from inside the car? failing that try squirting lots of wd40 into the lock, if you're lucky it'll just be a bit seized up, althought i doubt it if the lock turns and it doesn't open.

tried allsorts.just trying to get door panel off now.wouldnt mind,i finished paying for it last month!!!

I have exactly the same problem you do on my P reg bravo, I had a similar problem before where I couldn't open the driver from the outside and managed to fix that by playing around with the door mechanism, its happened again but can't open it at all now! Would be v. interested to see if anyone knows how to sort this!!

I had the same problem and i just fixed it yesterday!

Inside the door there are two metal rods connected to the door handle on the outside of the car. One is for opening the door, the other is for the lock. In my door the one connecting the lock to the rest of the stuff inside the door had broken off. Removing/refitting the rod fixed the problem.

What happens is that the rod gets stuck and the door is locked even when the rest of the car isn't.

If you got this problem also beware that closing the other doors or messing with the locked door could activate the central locking and lock you out if your keys is in the car! It happend to me with the engine running and my only key in the ignition :bang:
