I've got a problem with my sunroof and it isn't the usual leaking one:

When I try to move it, it catches itself on the roof as it doesn't lower it self down to slide into the car, super frustrating as then I can't get it back into position flush with the roof. This means I have to unscrew it, push the rails into position and screw it back it. Has anyone had this problem before??

Is the only solution a new sunroof mechanism? Any ideas

Cheers in advance!

Yeh, I might just spend a day when I can taking it apart, hopefully its something simple...

Emergency close screw?? I'll have a look cause that would be a lifesaver in the rain if it screwed up

It could be something as simple as a missing tooth in a cog. I hated working on mine, my arms were aching by the end of it from holding stuff up for ages! Getting someone to try moving it while looking, listning and feeling will be a good first port of call as it will give you an idea of where it is.
