Hi Guys

My loverly P reg 80sx Brava has a slight problem - the rear boot lid contact have melted on the connector - looks like a loose connection has over heated and destroyed the plastic to the point of the brass pads sinking down so they no longer make contact. This is annoying cos it means my rear wiper and heated screen doesn't work :(

Anyone got any ideas where I can get the part from? I need the connectors off the back and don't want to replace the entire loom.

There aren't any scrapies round here that seem to know the bit I am after.

Hey man, this has happened to my Brava.... When I first got it, it was this way, rear wipers didn't work etc.... I checked the melted conections wires and made sure there was short circuit and then reinstalled them and put some solder on them in order to make them touch the connectors on the boot. It all works fine now, and also make sure that the little switch between the connector is ok, it has a spring inside and turns on the light inside the compartment automatically.
I believe if you do this you'll be ok without the need to replace anything.
Just make sure you clean the wires that connect to the connectors and you'll be fine.
PS: In my case, I had the rear wiper motor dead and the bonnet brake light short and dead I had to replace both of them..... Don't know if this was due to the connectors issue or not.... I hope you won't have this problem.

I got mine replaced with a new one and it wasn't that expensive but I can't remember how much right now! Might be worth looking at scrappies further afield as a lot will post out these days, perhaps a specialist Fiat breaker would know what you are on about?

Just had a phone call from my step dad he's managed to get the contacts and the plugs from a shop - not sure which one though

So fingers crossed I'll be changing them over on saturday or maybe I'll finish work early one day and use some of me flexi.

£11 for the two conectors the contact block and a few of the funny spade connectors that go inside.

Fitted it last night - works a treat, dead easy to do!
