Ok I've posted the ad for my Brava in the Classifieds, hope it gets some interest.

£595 to FF members. Rear quarter recently resprayed due to failed lacquer from earlier repaint, not perfect match but fine.

Exhaust and suspension plus sill welding all done. 5 alloy wheels with good tyres.

Nearly all fettling done but some finishing jobs left for next owner.

Great fun to drive, lovely little practical zippy runaround.

Lovely looking car. Hope it goes to a good home. Brava's are getting scarce. Any harm in asking why you are parting company with it?

I stopped using it when I inherited a Rover 75 that became my main car for a while alongside my old workhorse Tipo and a motorbike. I was able to park it and not worry about it but there's now a Fiat 500 I can use instead of the Rover or Brava.

I do tend to hang on to things longer than I should...

I've lowered the price on this now (£400) to hopefully get it moved on, one member was interested but hasn't committed or followed up.

I put it through the MOT again but they abandoned the test when a small leak started in the bottom of the radiator when revving hard during the emissions test. They cost £70 - £80 if you can match the correct one but it's not worth me doing so I have added Wynn's Stop Leak which has done the trick for me before with no harm to the rest of the engine. I may give the MOT another go if that genuinely improves saleability.

3 of the 5 tyres have started cracking on the treads now they have been driven a bit after standing... the other 2 seem very good.

It's a great little rolling resto project for someone, deserves to be on the road.

Well I decided it wasn't going to shift the Brava if it wasn't sorted and driveable, so I changed the radiator and fitted new coolant (£100), but then the alternator decided to fail so I had that and the starter motor fixed (£120). It then failed the MOT on Lambda emissions, but was told that was almost certainly down to a rusty crack in the exhaust at the backbox causing a leak that messed up the probe reading at the tailpipe.

I got the exhaust fixed and hey presto it got its 12 months MOT, so I put a couple of good part-worn tyres on the back and she drives great. I may run it for 6 months just to enjoy it and get some payback.

If anyone is seriously interested in the car get in touch, any car with 12 months MOT has to be worth at least £500...

Hi John, might be a stupid question, but do you still have it? i also have a green 1.2 brava that i think will fail mot on rust..
So i'd just like to register some interest if that's ok

Hi, yes I do have it, not quite sure what I'll do with it as my old Tipo will be scrapped soon and the Brava could replace it as the budget runaround. I've been using it without problems apart from a blowing exhaust that has been welded, and I am contemplating spending a few hundred on it to see it through the next couple of years but could let it go if persuaded. It needs an exhaust, rear subframe bushes and 4 doorhandles, plus the starter is occasionally reluctant / lazy. And the cambelt is overdue timewise, plus a bit more welding in one sill. But all the metal brake lines were redone for the last MOT, spent nearly £300 on it at the time.

Not quite sure what I'd take for it, it does drive really well and looks great apart from some colour mismatch and laquer peel.
