Bravo HGT 20v ( ink black )

I Bought this Bravo HGT 2 years ago with the intention of fixing it up ....
I did all the mechanical work including timing belts, rocker gasket and a whole host of suspension work ...
Meanwhile a Marea 150 20v came up for sale so snapped it up and sold the Bravo and regretted it instantly .....
A year later I bought it back for triple what I sold it for
Never put any pictures up of it so though I might do it today

Rough spec:

1997 Fiat Bravo HGT 20v
59.000 miles
Non - aircon model
One of the first cars out of the factory and used as a press car

Work done:
Timing belt including all tensioners and aux belts
Service using all genuine parts apart from oil which is 10w60 Millers Nanodrive
Iradium Spark Plugs
K&N panel filter in oem airbox
Coolant tank replaced
Bilstien b6 front and rear shocks
Eibach lowering spring with 2 coils chopped
Brembo High performance Discs with EBC yellow stuff pads
Fiat Coupe turbo Alloys painted in Nero Seta 803/A
Goodyear Eagle F1 215/40/16 at front
Goodyear Eagle F1 205/40/16 At rear
FIAT Marea Turbo Grill from Brasil
Brand new "Bravo HGT" badge at the back and a new FIAT badge at the front
A full manifold back exhaust system including original cat

On the interior car was fitted with a genuine blue stitch leather interior from my HGT 155, a set of Lockwood dial Faces I bought in 2006 for a Marea I had back then and never fitted due to being the wrong faces and a brand new old stock genuine parcel shelf


Future plans are
Retrim the leather steering wheel (anyone with any recommendations please comment)
Full respray

Lovely car but I hate the big black coupe turbo wheels...

Put the originals back on - so much better looking I reckon.

And I've gone off your gunmetal marea wheels as well !

Save the custom OTT wheels for the custom OTT Bravo project.

Bored with nothing to do so I thought i would change the timing belt, water pump, aux belts and tensioners....
Also thought I would try out this waterless coolant stuff
Added some goodies for a little trip I'm doing to Brands Hatch in Thursday aswell

Does anyone know where we cam get hold of the Maf to throttle intake pipe ???Click image for larger version

So been very lucky to find a genuine throttle body to maf intake hose which is one of the last in existence......
Also my sunroof has completely rusted out so found a tinted glass unit from a Fiat Coupe and a new seal is being fitted .......should be done by next weekend Click image for larger version

Great cars and never really got the recognition they deserved back in the day. The ludicrous cost of doing the timing belt at a main dealer didn't help, either - I remember lots being sold very cheaply at 5 years / 60k miles old - and many people played cam belt roulette with them, which probably explains the low survival rates today.

I had a Marea 20v HLX in metallic gold.

Looked like your grandfather's car, went like a hot hatch. Huge fun and only sold because I got a job with a company car.

They were a bit of a sleeper, only those in know were aware of their power. They did change hands for little money as said, just like the Coupe poor servicing & ignorance on these cars led to the demise of some & there is the fact that they were not deemed that good looking a car by some.

Yep.. that 72k belt change..
Was 1200 back then.. local coupe fella found a shortcut.. so 700

Was 450 last I heard.. Inflation eh..!!

Good thing is ...if you have tye right tools yoy can do the job yourself without any problems
Its not particularly hard ....
Its just had all of its belts changed sobit should be good for 2 - 3 years

My fuel cap seal hasnt been sealibg very well recently so i decided to buy my car a late Christmas present ....
