Can someone help me with my radio. I have a 2000 1.2 16v SX Brava. I dont know why but i just cant tune the radio. Ive looked in the manula but that hasnt helped. It keeps on autoseeking even after its found a proper radio station. even when i turn the scan off it still does it. I cant seem to save radio stations on any of the 6 buttons either. It is really annoying me now. It just wont co-operate and i am getting extremly frustrated :bang:

I imagine you have tried this already so I will keep it short. When you find a radio station on autoseek, you need to push the botton again once you have the one you want or it will just keep going. I'm pretty sure there is a way to tune all the sttions in automatically although they can be overridden (I think you just push and hold the button until it beeps when you are on the frequency you want to save?). Just to check also that you have traffic reports turned off as this will make it jump stations, sometimes randomly.

I always said I was never going to replace my standard one but I did in the end, ended up being a cheap and easy option :)

Well at first i was going to buy another radio with a CD player in it. But then i saw that the radio i have is built to take multi CD changer so i was thinking of getting that instead. But i havent got the money yet so im gonna have to make do with the radio. Tonight i managed to get BRMB and then i pressed and held the expert button. And then the station stayed on there! i was so proud. lol. but i realised it locked most things on the radio so i couldnt change station and then i took it off. Then i did it again but it kept on scanning! Then it managed to find Kerrang. It only re scanned itself 1 time when i was listening to a song i really liked. lol and it seems to be sticking with it a little now but it keeps on scanning.

I will try that thing you said. hopefully it will work.

I think you want to be out of expert mode, the buttons do funny things when you do that. You need a specific CD changer though to plug into the back of that one, think it's in the manual somewhere. If not I'll have a hunt about (unless someone comes on soon who knows which one it is)

Grundig MCD36 is the one thats needed, they appear on ebay fairly often. There is one on ebay at the mo, with 6 days to go, but be warned, they jump up high in price, so you have to weight the options between keeping the current stereo and fitting that or going for a brand new after market option.
As yours is a 2000 i think, it wont come with the auto changer cable with it, will need to obtain this seperetly.

I suggest if you're thinking about a CD changer, to leave it and just get an aftermarket HU. I myself wanted the changer when i got my Bravo, but for the price you pay, you can get a good aftermarket mp3 player instead.
This site http://www.addacdchanger.co.uk/index.php?manufacturers_id=28 sells the changers and you can see its about 150 odd...usually on ebay the bids go up to 100, so really is best to leave the changer in my opinion :)
Hope you got your radio stuff sorted btw (y)

Ive got a new radio/CD player now. I came back off of holiday and had to buy a new battery because my radio was draining the power and they recomend i replace it so i bought the Sony Xplod or something with the fiat garage recomended. It doesnt look as nice as the origional but its still great and my lil babys all better now so im happy

Apparently its a commong problem with that radio....
