Hey everyone,

I have looked around to try and find some answers but no joy...

I have just bought a white 1.4 fiat Bravo but it has some minor faults that I'm hoping you fine people can help me out with, I really cant be arsed to take to to a dealer as more than likey they would rip me off, and as I got the car quite cheap I dont really want to be spending too much.

1./ The fuel gauge doesn't work, the orange light is always on and it only moves a fraction everytime the car is filled.

2./ The fan only works on number 4...it works perfectly on 4, but on 1,2, and 3 nothing happening.

3./ The sunroof opens upwards fine, but is it the type that should open all the way back into the roof??

When you close it and you hold the button down, half the sunfoof goes down a little but thre other side stays where it is...I think there are runners, so is it partially broken?

Thanks, any help appreciated.

Your Fuel Gauge
Possibly Need A New Sender Unit Not Sure On The Bravo Buti Had This Problem On A Corsa I Had Was A Ball Cock Device In The Fuel Tank Wasnt A Big Job To Do But Knowing Fiat Youll Probly Have To Take The Engine Out Using Specialist Tools Only Available From Fiat At 100,000 Pounds Each

not got a clue on the heater, switch loose connection faulty switch, ? erm:confused:
an i have a 1.4 bravo my sunroof is tilt an slide
try grease runners up and the switch if you hold it to one side it will tilt the sunroof push switch opposite direction it will close it let go and push in the same direction as when you closed it an it should slide open providing its not stuck

The sunroof doesnt sound right. Like you said it should go back into the roof. Best thing todo is probably remove the glass and then have a look at the runners. removing the glass is easy. 2 torq screws on either side and then it just pops out . .

hi, my dad has a 2001 brava and has had the fuel prob and the fan prob too.. the fuel gauge was the sender in the tank that was stuck and i think it cost him around £30 to fix....it didnt need replacing but cleaning and refitting and its been fine ever since. the fan speed prob was the actual switch behind the speed selector knob that fell apart so we got this from scrapyard for £5 and it worked. we were told tho that if it didnt cure the fault with the fan that the fan motor could need replacing as it has something on it built in to control the speeds and when they go u have to replace motor. i guess the 1st thing to sort is the fuel gauge isnt it?:) hope this helps

Re: the heater slower speeds, you may have a failed resistor pack. This gives the 'other' fan speeds aother than full. It is located next to the fan, along the trunking to the heater matrix (in the passenger foot well - the round object is the fan)
