fuel gauge problems

my fuel gauge is goin haywire, sometimes it runs fine, then other times it just goes up and down all the time from half full 2 empty, anyone know what it could be?

Its the sender unit. Not a difficult job, insturctions on the Bravo Guide as per usual on the repair guide
