Can anyone help???
I have a 1.2 16v brava(2000) plate, and the idling is very erratic when I stop the car, in extreme cases the engine stalls but fires straight back up. The revs bounce between 300 and 1200 when idling, and when driving around the 2000rpm range the car is very jerky as though its missing big time. Any help would be great as this has gone on for weeks and is drivin me mad :bang:

Have read something about the Lambda sensor which could explain erratic revs.

Could be the problem.

Anyone else?

Cheers guys, i will try each suggestion in turn, hopefully 1 will work :) ,and i will let you kno how it goes.

Thanks again (y)

Its sound Like you have A CF2 engine. This idle control valve, controls idle speed and is also throttle potenometer. These used to go faulty a few times. But some time they used to loose Synchronisation with the fuel ecu and can cause this fault. This can only be reset by a dealer. But also some times by removing and refitting the fuel ecu plugs it can cure thses type of faults as they can some times be false connections

clean idle control valve.take battery lead off for 30 mins.this should sort[not read other threads so might duplicate things].:)
