I have a Fiat Brava 1997, 48000KM which I just bought.
When I use the second gear and increase the speed until it passes 40Km/h, I can hear a noise like vibration shortly (some seconds) from the gear box or around there exactly at this speed, it is not there when I use 3rd gear at the same speed. Also it happens when the car is stopped and I push the gas pedal to increase RPM and when I release gas pedal and RPM is decreasing at a special RPM you can hear this noise (vibration) comes for some seconds. Is it a problem and can be harmful or is normal?

I found it that it happens at a special RPM (2.5 to 3). Please write something for me :) Nige??

Had a similar prob on my Marea. If you are lucky it is the same problem I had.
Not the gearbox - the exhaust. A plate came loose in mine and started knocking. It only knocked when it resonated with engine vibration - hence the problem is only apparent at certain revs. New gearbox is the only fix. Should be apparent if this is problem once it is on a ramp and you can listen to the exhaust at various revs.
Good Luck

Jon

Thanks Jon!
The previouse owner of the car just changed the exhust system and also he mentioned this noise came after changing that. I will chack it.:)
