hello i have got a 98 bravo 1.4 with 80,000 miles on it has started making a screeching noise and a ticking noise that seem to be coming from the cam shaft the car only does this when cold once warmed up the noises virtually stop. I sounds like the engine is about to seize. I am going to change the oil but i am not sure what oil to get can anyone help please?!

not sure but didnt i see a post somewhere about the oil spray bars in bravo's causing probs on certain engines?

The 1.4 Bravo is well known for camshaft problems due to having an oil spray bar that sprays oil onto the camshaft. This gets blocked very easily, especially of the oil is not changed regularly. Recommended is every 6k at least.

If you are lucky you may have caught it early enough but best get it checked and quick.
