I went and bought myself a universal fit backbox yesterday, praying it wouldn't be too loud.

It was booked in to get fitted tomorrow, but the guy wanted £50 !

So I thought I'd give it a go, and even though it was a little fiddly, managed, with complete success to fit it myself this evening! I'm chuffed to bits with it, and THANK FCUK It's really not a lot louder than standard! I'm guessing it's bacause, unlike a custom straight-through exhaust, removing the backbox still leaves two other silencers after the cat.

Fitting it really was easy, I was worried it wouldn't fit too well, but it really does fit like a glove, and doesn't knock on anything (Very small slither cut off the lowest lip of the bumper)

Looks much better Does it not even make it sound a tiny bit deeper?

Yeah, it is definately deeper, there is a change in tone, and tbh I havent taken it out for a proper blat yet, I'm sure it is a bit louder, but I'm just releived, cos I was dreading it being deafening!

It sounds perfect. Just the change in tone & volume you'd want without being ott!
