Hi,
I have a 1.9 diesel bravo 57 plate 120bhp. Yesterday I had to stop quickly at a set of traffic lights which stalled the car - I was in 5th gear.
When I started the engine, I found it very difficult to select 1st gear. Once driving the gear change was still difficult but possible. Gearing down was more difficult. Getting into reverse was almost impossible. If I turn the engine off, the gears could be selected easily.
I've followed threads and the 1st thing I did was bleed the clutch system. Biting point is about a 1/3 from the bottom of the pedal travel. I checked the cables and they are OK.

Can anyone suggest where to look next?

Clutch or gearbox ?
Thanks in advance for any shared experiences on this.

sounds like your clutch slave cylinder, is going out. I ignored mine for months...then my clutch pedal went out at traffic lights.

Get one off ebay around 25-30 pounds. Very easy to replace, take the battery off remove the tray. undo the to 10mm bolts holding it on to the top of the gearbox, undo the the pipe. install is reverse of undoing it. bleed the system...sorted.

Good strong gear changes.
