Hi all my name is Manos i ve been reading the forum a lot before i register my self up I own a 1.2 16v 2001 bravo that i bought just yesterday and i also have a alfa 145 1.7 16v from brand new (well my father bought it)
So i have drove in the past 1.2 16v in a punto and it was very quick so when i bought my bravo i already knew the engines performance My question is the 1.4 16v heads if i have read right is exactly the same as the 1.2 valve diameter cc of the chamber e.t.c What about the cams ? Does anyone know if the in/ex cams of the 1.4 16v have more duration or lift? Also what about the bravo/Brava 1.6 throttle from wich model fits to my 1.2 engine also my engine has bosch electric and not electric throttle its simple not fly by wire

Dave thanks a lot for your answer my bravo is 2001 model i have good fuel economy but low performance and i was thinging if the 1.4 cams are more agressive than the 1.2 16v to fit them to my engine and custom remap of the ecu with a free flow exhaust header

The eper numbers are not the same for punto and bravo so theres a difference at the cams for sure i have a pair of cams from punto MK1 16v the onl think i have to do is to measure the duration and lift of both cams to compare them

Mk 1 Punto 16v has the high lift cam
1.2/1.4 have the same cams. 100hp 1.4 is the same as mk1 Punto cam
Mk1 Punto has indeed the double springs
Mk1 Punto/Bravo cf2 have standard bottom ends, cf3 engines have the extra brace and oil squirters

I've had every combination of the 1.2 16v in my Bravo at one stage or another :D

Personal choice: cf3 bottom, mk1 Punto head and cams. Easy stuff (y)

My Bravo is 2000 i think that the latest model was 2001 if i remember right I have found through eper that my engine is CF2 that means that it hasnt oil squirter thats not so good

I have found a pair of panda 100hp cams should i buy them or wait and try to find a punto mk1 sporting cams with their valve springs Also how can identify my gearbox i think that maybe my gearbox its not the original beacause it has to long ratios i will try to make a video and post it here to see the ratios generally I wonder whats the potential of this engine with normal mods not extremely changes or forced induction. Ported head, valve job. slightly rised c/r. lightened flywheel, exhaust header, and cat with back box, free flow filter in the air box, punto MK1or repro cams and valve springs. and maybe a custom ecu remap. 95-100hp would be a realistic number? Or I expect too much?
