Can anyone please recommend where I can find a handbrake gaiter to actually fit in to the Bravo - what a nightmare, I have had one sent me that was supposed to be a custom fit - but NO!!! No where near. I only want a black leather one, so nothing over spectacular but my god anyone would think you were searching for the treasure at the end of a rainbow!!! The dealers and performance shops look at you with dread when you tell them what car you've got, just shows they're not suppliers of anything and everything for any make or model of car.

I would be really grateful if anyone could give me some ideas, - thanks peeps!

is this as a replacement to a broken normal one?

if you just want a normal one, try your local scappies, they should have Bravo knocking about :p

if you wanted a different one to standard, try www.bravo-guide.co.uk

as they know a lot about them and should know where to get the rarer parts :D

No my gear shift gaiter is black leather and the handbrake gaiter is a crappy "pretend its leather" grey, so I need to match it up - I am lookingfor a chrome or black uplift also to fit on to the gear shaft. So I am really looking for suppliers as Stoneacre will charge the earth I reckon.

You will really struggle with gaiters to fit the handbrake of a bravo due ti their shape (even worse on the marea). the most popular solution is to make your own. Take of the existing one carefully and unstitch to get the pattern

As for handbrake covers - the only one I'm aware that fits is the momo one at £45! ouch. However, I picked up a cheap tatty one that jusr goes over the top for a fiver at motorworld

Yeah I have just got one of the covers from motorworld extactly the same, Defeated!!!!!! - but I am also looking for the uplift mechanism in black or chrome - am I just looking for things that aren't available or is it that non of the performance retailers just dont wanna know? I am popping to Stoneacres today to see what they have got for the gaiter - and I will let you allknow - thanks for the input wimmy - and good look with the handbrake cover Helz!!! I reckon you'll be visiting Motorworld!!!!!!!!!! :)

Helz honey - I hate to tell you this but I just looked at the site for your cover and its exaxctly the same as what I got - I sent mine back today - It goes no where near - just to save you ripping your cover off. I got mine from autostyle dirct too and they are really good at listing things that are not custom fits as advertised and I have made a point in e-mailing them and returning the goods with a statement to that fact. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, just thought it would save you getting the cover off and maybe ruining it - :(

I know, but thats what the forum is for - you've all given me advice and stuff - so it was the least i could do- but saying that the cover from motorworld does look okay - stick with the best option. All the best! (y)

its a slate grey colour - BUT HEY listen to this for a Gr8 idea and one that works and Im really pleased with ............................

The gaiter - I took it off and brought some Dylon - accessory and shoe dye- suitable for leather - imatation leather and shoes etc, cost all of 2.79 - in black and dyed it. It looks absoultely Brill and it was so easy to do. Its just a matter of scrubbing the piece you wanna dye with a scourer sponge you get in the pack, wipe it with a damp cloth and PAINT the dye on - no washer machine dye rubbish, and it looks absolutely superb. It comes in all colours to and it is guarranteed to cover ANY base colour of what you have, they had blue, yellow, red, white, black, brown and even pink. And its better than paying up to 30.00 for something that may not even fit when you get it home.!! :D

I have requested the Brio catalogue on line - but you have to state which car you have first so they can include some bits and bobs info wise for your car, and the Bravo was not included on the list. - Even got the other half to look, I thought I was bein a bit blonde - but no I was right on this occasion!!

Absolutely Wimmy - Photos shortly.
