Anyone have any idea where I can find a working carb for a 1979 Brava? I'd prefer not spending a lot of money.

1979 Brava? Didn't exist until 1994 chap and all are injection.

I thought there was, well it must be a 131. All I have is the engine, but I want to get it running. From information I have found from numbers on the engine, it seems to be from 1979, and on a site I found it had a Brava listed for 1979. What are some good sites for used Fiat parts for older engines? I also need piston rings.
thanks

www.rockauto.com is where I saw Brava models from 1979.

yeah, i saw a brochure for an old brava too! Italy may be the place to look. I've never seen one over here

When my dad bought a new house, the previous owner just left it sitting in the garage, it had the transmission, head, AC compressor, starter, alternator, carb and all hooked up. Ive taken it all apart to clean and repair. A couple of my friends and I are making a go-kart out of it. a go-kart with an in-line 4, dual overhead cam, 87HP engine on it!

Yeah, another thing I forgot to mention is that if you go to an auto parts store and have them look something up for you it will have Brava listed under 1979 fiats.

Please dont make a go kart out of it, instead send it back to us in europe :) . there are not many left over here. You should restore it if possible..

Owen.

Since you have no carburetor at all, why don't you go to a specialist shop to get the one from them for what you intend to use the car. Despite the fact that the Weber closed down the carb production there are plenty of new carbs available and some of the shops have recons.
