Hi Guys,
I hope somebody can help?? Whilst parked outside argos today, waiting for the missis,i noticed the temp gauge move right into the red and stay there! Then alot of steam erupted from under the bonnet from the coolant filler cap (next to washer bottle) I instantly turned the blowers on max and it did start to go down. I managed to get the car home and the gauge was sitting at the 3/4`s posistion. The car is outside cooling down and i`m gonna investigate further in the morning. I thought at first it could be the thermostat, but i`m still getting hot air through the vents? Posibly a sender unit? If anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be great!

Thanks tony

The water will circulate for the heater all the time, thermostat controls the flow to the radioator.
Sounds like thermostat to me. Personally only have had them stuck open so no steam for me.

Either a bad thermostat (But it would keep overheating while driving), a bad fan control sensor or a broken fan. (My bad is on broken radiator fan)
