Hi all,

Bit of a prob with rear wash and headlamp washers. No water at all from headlamp washers, and the rear wash just produces a trickle of fluid.

Just filled reservoir to full, and checked all fuses, seem ok, and the front wash is brill. I know from Haynes that they all share same pump, so I am thinking it might be blocked hoses.

Anyone got any suggestions how to flush em out?? Minor poblem I know, but hey, I bought an ELX with headlamp washers, I want em to work!!! :D

Cheers
Phil :D

Had a Golf Estate (sorry) that often suffered a blocked pipe to the rear wash - used to take it apart and put some compressed air through it. Best to give it a squirt through almost daily, as it seems that the washer additive can crystalise if left standing.

My rear washer pipe fell off and corroded the contacts in the boot, which I had to have replaced :( I'm not posh enough to have headlight washers though
Have you checked the fuse in the fuse box that is under the bonnet in front of the battery? Thta's where the one for the headlamp washers is.

Many people leave it disconnected as the headlamp washers are next to useless and reallyt just make a mess of the bonnet.

As for the rear check the pipe as Helz says.

Hi all,

Thanks for the advice.

Had already checked fuse under bonnet, seemed ok. I might replace it though just to check, cos there is nothing from headlight washers, but I think the rear wash/wipe is just a blockage.

Im not posh enough to have headlamp washers either, they just happened to be on the Brava that I bought!!!!!

Have spent half the day washing and waxing today, so might have a good days maintenance tomorrow. Looks good now tho!! :D
