Hi all need help my fiat brava started misfiring about 4 weeks ago i had the car serviced and also had the thermostact changed as it was dodgy. The car is still misfiring there is oil all around the spark plugs. Did check the ecu to see if there was a problem but that showed nothing wrong. Have been told what ever it is its gonna be expensive. Just wondering if you guys have any info on what it could be and what to do?

did you get the car serviced by a garage? are the plugs tightened?

yes plugs have been changed, I have tryed using injector cleaner that helped the next day misfiring gone than today its started again

Oil level too high (getting into piston chamber) ?
Are you loosing coolant ?
Get compression checks => leaky seals & piston rings ?
Seeping (or possibly blown) head gasket ? ...since you mentioned dodgy thermostat (although it has been changed now). Believe you check this by looking for "mayo" or frothy bits in your engine oil caused by coolant getting into oil compartment (check DIP stick).
