Hi all

I've recently bought a P reg Bravo 1.8HLX and it has got a red key, but has not got the emergency immob code and the alarm and central locking do not work by pressing the button on the key. The central locking does work by turning the key in the lock though.
I used to work at a Fiat garage a few years ago and I remember accessing the emergency immob code by a combinations of key turns from the red key, and the key light would flash and pause to indicate the code for starting the car with the blue key and accelerator padal presses if the immob failed. Now this procedure is not made public as Fiat dealers charge you to request this code from Fiat (who have it stored on their computer system at UK HQ in Slough) but does anyone else know haw this is done as my memory is useless!
The previous owner said that his battery had been disconnected for a long time and that since then the alarm had not worked at all and a dealer had said he would need the alarm control box and keys replacing (he didn't have the code for the alarm plip in the key). Now assuming that the alarm box is working, surely I'd only need to buy a blank key with a plip button, have it cut to the right shape, code in the key to the immob using the red key and then program in the key plip to the alarm, using the button on the alarm control box and a pen?? is this correct, or would I need a new alarm box? also if this is correct does the alarm code integrate with the immob or the ECU at all, and what would the procedure be with the alarm control box button and the key be??

Sorry for all the questions, but thanks for any info anyone has.

Regards

Andy
