Good evening all,

Every time i go over bump i get a knocking noise from the front and some times when i turn. Can anyone let me know what this could be please i want to get it repaired as it is doing my head in

Could be a few things, check for play in track rod ends, anti roll bar drop links or wishbone bushes.

My car was clonking away good style and needed sorted for the MOT. Both Track Rod Ends, both drop links and an offside wishbone cured it. The parts were about 55 quid.

its normally down to the droplinks BUT could be down to worn arms too.
Mine was doing it for ages,so replaced the drop link on the side that was making the noise.Only to find it was still doing it! Got it on a ramp to find my arb was touching the droplink nut! :/ we centered it and all is well BUT we think the bushes have gone, hence movement in the arb :(
..You may wana check yours too see whats going on under there ;)

hi,
from what you are saying if the front end knocks only on bumps when you go straight, and all the time when you're steering, it might be the drive shaft, if not it might be bushes or pivot, or load bearing from the shock absorber. Mainly if the knock is worst when you're turning, it might be the drive shaft. If the knock it's louder when driving over bumps it's either bushes, pivot or load bearing. Good luck finding it.
