i just notice that my bravo has got a oil leak on the left side of the car. the leak seems to be some where around the cv joints(think thats what its called) and the brushes. there is no sign of leak looking from the top of the engine that would suggest it could be a gasket leak. i did a oil and filter change around 5 weeks ago could this be the oil sump not closed properly?

i have checked the oil and it seems fine. i had i injector problem few months back so this could be a facter of the leak now. Even though the injector light doesnt comes on, the car still have that feel at times like it did when the injector light used to come on.

the oil is driping of the ARM(not quiet sure of its name) thing that the wheel is attached to.

i have the feeling the person who did the change on the oil might have not closed the sump properly so i will be taking it back to them but i was looking at it today and wanted to see what you guys think

the oil i can see driping off the arm. that section just have a lot of oil there like its running down from somwhere above onto the arm.

If the sump plug isn't closed, it's right at the bottom, right in the middle and you should be able to see oil around it or dripping directly onto the driveway. Same if it's the filter but I still think these are the other side of the sump from the driveshaft  If it's dripping onto the driveshaft it's much more wide open as to where it's coming from (one of the oil seals could be loose further up in the engine). If it's coming from the driveshaft itself, it could be gearbox oil or brake fluid, which have seals around the shaft and joint which could be leaking. Sorry if you already know this!

ETA - that's about the limit of my knowledge on this, sorry :(.

this is definately engine oil from the smell, its too far forward to be gearbox oil(please god no :D). hope its not too much of a job to do, a friend said he thibk its the seal around the sump thats leaking.

had another look at the leak. it looks like its comming from above the joint arm thing(the one with the black spring like rubber over it) not too sure of its name. so i dont know whats above thats area.
