ok, im looking for a bit of advise, i changed the clutch in the bravo (1.6 16v) last night, all worked fine but the gear stick seems to be sitting too far towards the drivers seat. the selector is hitting something going into 5th and i cant get it into reverse, is there a way of adjusting the linkages? many thanks, Lewis :bang:

You can adjust by screwing in or out the eyes that are on the gearbox cables at the gearbox end. However, this is only for fine adjustment. If you can't get a gear and the stick is generally looking wrong there is another problem. I suggest that you may have bent the bracket above the diff housing that the change cables are in when you dropped the box for the clutch change. The selector arm is perhaps now fouling it. You should be able to see/feel from under bonnet. Move the selector arm left and right by hand and see if it hits anything.

I remember reading a post by someone with a 1.6 where the gearstick had poped out of its socket there was a picture too. If you lift the gear stick gaitor up you can see the gear stick has a ball in a socket, that person pushed it back in. Worth checking.

cheers fella, i'll have a look in the morning. i can find reverse if i fiddle with the selector under the bonnet and put in in gear by hand, then it'll work for about 3 times from the stick. than hey ho it goes again!!!! im starting to think theres something wrong with the selector parts on the bulkhead

ah well..... Fix It Again Tomorrow lol
