New to the forum so Hi everyone

I brought a Fiat Brava a couple of months ago, and it has started a tapping noise sounds like from under the bonnet, when I put the clutch down

Any ideas what this could be?

sounds like the clutch release bearing, mines doing exactly the same thing. replacement chutch kits are about the £100 mark. im doing mine next weekend.

What engine is yours?

Thanks for the reply...its a 1.6 engine, do you know is it something that needs fixing straight away or is ok to drive for a bit till i have the funds to pay for it?

ive heard them last for ages, im only changing it asap because its really irritating.

in the same boat as you two, mines been playing up for about 3 months, and then my clutch has now started to slip ...nothing to worry about if its done it recently...it will last for a while

just to clear this up, it is the release bearling. i changed the clutch on sunday (£66) and its silent now. like Spoonz said, they do last ages but it just irritated me so much i had to change it lol
