can anyone help me i have a fiat bravo 1.2 was driving along yesterday and the clutch just dropped. Then i couldn't get the car into any gear. stopped the car in a panic and all  of a sudden there was a bang from under the car, when i looked undernearth there were loads of bits of metal on the floor, so i picked them up and somehow got the car into 1st gear drove home doing 2 miles an hour. i have phoned a garage to try and get a quote on how much it is going to cost to fix but they say they wont be able to tell until they see the damage. he said he thinks it might be the cylinder that has broken what do you think? :bang:

i take it they mean clutch slave cylinder.its a common fault.easy job.about £40 for parts.same again for labour if you cant do it yourself.its very unusual for it to just fall off.its about 3-4 inch long, and a cylinder shape.check your brake master cylinder for fluid loss.thats were the clutch fluid goes two.there have been past threeds on the subject.let us no how u get on.

Sorry cant post a pic of the parts cause the garage has them, they were going to try to use them to fix it but he said that the black part is torn, so he had to order the parts from fiat. then when he got the part it was the wrong one. Because of easter i'm still waiting, hope fiat are open today so that they can deliver the parts. i'm seeing him later today so i let you know how things go.
