I have the tipo in my signature, owned as a road car and built it into a race car-click the link underneath to see. I did have a brava TD for a bit its was a heap of junk and had to change the engine. I had a coupe 16vt and I used to break and sell coupe parts way back, TBH done virtually every job you could think of on these cars.

Recieved my subframe from the guy on that coupe site.

Im looking to clean it up a bit and paint it.

Its in great condition just a couple of small bits of surface rust.

Going to sand them back and paint it.

Whats the best sort of paint to use for it?

POR-15 is the one to use.....................dont get it on your hands.

Hi I am in the Glasgow area and my Brava 1.6 sx 2000 model failed its MOT on the front subframe being seriously corroded, I dont want to pay the £4-600 that fiat have quoted as the car isn't worth that much. Could anyone recommend a decent scrappy who might have a reconditioned one? Ideally in the Glasgow/Lanarkshire area? I'm going to do the fitting myself.

I have just had to have a front sub frame fitted to my 2001 Brava for its MOT and i got what looked like a new one for 60 quid delivered from DA Motors LTD in Essex. I got it through Parts Gateway but you could maybe phone them direct on 01268 767424

So subframe removal can be done without having to remove engine and gearbox as I have sheared anti roll bar bolts aand need to drill out but access limited on axle stands

Yes the subframe can be removed without removing engine and gearbox
As your going to remove the subframe it's better to upgrade the anti roll bar while you are there
