Hi,

I had a thread some time ago about problems after a cambelt change. The problem I had then seems to be present still.
The ECU tries to adjust the idling to 700 rpm when warm engine. This has caused the engine to stall when driving in the city, this could cause situations when there is a lot of traffic.

I got the info on how the ICV works and how it adjusts the idling, I was just out and had the engine to warm up and then I tried to find out what might increase the idling rpm. I connected the FiatECU Scan and noticed the following, when I turned on all electrical consumers then the ECU needed to raise the idling speed, directly when under 12,3V it requested higher idling. It raised the voltage to approx 13V and then the ECU again requested 700rpm. When all electrical devices are shut off it is 13,8V.

So with this in mind where do I need to concentrate my efforts so solve this problem?

It can be said that last week the problem wasn't present but then again it was a little colder outside, approx -5degC. Now the temp during the day is approx 0. Could this have something to do with this issue?

Try to do a ECU reset, take the battery leads of, leave it minimum of 1 hour, then reconnect, start the car with no consumers on (lights, radio, demist ...), for about 5 minutes, then switch off. You could drive it normaly afterwards.
You should also check the alternator with a multimeter, car off should have at battery minimum 12.3 V, and with the car started about 13.7 V.
And btw i know that the idling should be somewere between 750 - 800 rpm, but as Gregovic said i might be mistaken.
