Hi all

My car's been sat for a month and the hadbrake's stuck on. It's a T plate 115 hlx. I've tried rocking backwards and forwards and it won't come off. I don't want to put too much power down 'cos i don't think it's moving and I don't want to make it worse. I noticed that the handbrake lever has gotten tighter after the rocking forwards and backwards though, it used to travel through 5 clicks and now is tight when not engaged.

2 questions then: Does this mean that the cable is stuck, or that the drums are seized, and what should i do to get it unstuck? TIA :)

When mine was left sat for a while, the drums seized up, I let the handbrake off and brought the clutch up slowly, with very very slight acceleration if you need it, there was a slight crack and then all was fine. They just rust over don't they if they aren't used ? someone can correct me on that mind.

Try taking the back wheels off and getting at them with a wire brush, or even just a hammer to knock away the rust?
