i'm new here. a friend of mine just got a bravo 1.4 sx 1996.problem is it's not starting, becouse in his attempt to change the ignition coil and HT leads resultet in him messing up and forgetting the posistion of the ht leads, both on the ignition coil and the engine block.
could you please assist, in how to propperly place the ht leads from ignition coil to spark plugs on the engine?:)

everything we tryied, ends up in engine missfiring, then stops.

well the coil pack should have the cilynder order on it ( 1,2,3,4 )

i can't remember where cylinder1 is .. could be the closest one to the coil pack or the one at the other end.
try both!
after you find cylinder 1 the rest are easy 2,3,4.

okay.
så number 1 on the coil goes to cylinder 1. and 2-2, 3-3, 4,4?
or is it wrong ?

okay, thanks :) it worked. it starts, but it's very irregular/uneven.
tested ignition coild. ht leads, and spark plugs. don't know what else it could be. any ideas ?

Could also be:
-the stepper motor, wich controls the idle;
-dirty butterfly case;
-broken throttle position sensor (also on the butterfly case);
-broken TDC sensor (rpm)
-broken camshaft sensor.

Pick one and test it. ;) Or test all.

-stepper motor: easy test - take it out leave it connected, and put someone to fire up de car, if the pin moves, that means that the motor is trying to adjust the air bypass => it works.
-dirty butterfly case: clean it.
-broken throttle position sensor: you could check it with a multimeter (don't remember what ressistance should have), but you could also change it cause is pretty cheap.
-broken TDC sensor: check it with a multimeter, should have somewhere between 750 ohm - 900 ohm, at 23 degrees Celsius.
-broken camshaft sensor: check it with a multimeter (don't remember what ressistance).

You could also try to take it to a tester, to see if it gives up anything.
Good luck.

okay. i will try that. only problem is: where are these things located ? :(
