Hi all,
I have a petrol Fiat brava 1.2 16v hsx year 2000 and I'm just wondering where is the fuel filter located on this model and can it be replaced?
Thanks,
Leo.

Welcome :)

It is built into the pump I'm afraid, the best thing to do is to get some injector cleaner in. Hope this helps :)

Thanks alot for your help, guess I won't be putting in the new fuel filter the auto part guys gave me...

I'm having the "hot start" problem or should I say "not start" problem with my brava ie starts when cold no problem but when it is hot sometimes lets me down and wont start...

I tried injector cleaner but problem still exists, looks like from reading other posts I will have to change some or all the injectors... Will try today using HT method to see which one is malfunctioning...

Off hand does anyone know the type of injectors used on a fiat brava 1.2 16v petrol year 2000?

Thanks again for all the help, there is some great info. and knowledge on this forum...

Cheers,
Leo.

check the injectors resistances first. there is a thread somewhere that says the correct numbers.

also if it starts when cold not when hot id consider it to be a temp sensor problem, if its reading cold but its actually hot too much fuel will go in and it will be very hard to start.

check the tempsensors.

Hot start problems sound like the classic crank position sensor failure.

Yip replaced the cps and it seems to have sorted the "hot start" problem...(y)

The day after brava started to shudder, intermitently sounded like a tractor and had no power...:bang:

The engine was misfiring...

Turned on engine and with a pliers pulled out HT leads to see if it effected the running of engine. Plugs 1 to 3 ok but when pulled out HT 4 there was a lightening storm in engine. The lead was arcing across to engine. Turned off engine and discovered a pin hole on bottom of HT lead causing a short to the engine. This was causing the plug to only fire some of the time...

Wrapped some insulting tape to cover the pin hole replace the lead back into eingine. Turn on and wow a "new car", no shudder, sounds great and back to full power...:D

Off to get a new HT lead as I dont think the insulting tape will last...

Brava is 11 years old so things going wrong is par for the course but car is running great again...

Again just to say thanks for all the help...:worship:
Cheers,
Leo.
