Hi all,

I'm having problems with my brava. The engine is turning over fine but is not firing (apart from every now and again it will cough), but thats about it. I have checked the spark from the plugs 2 are sparking 2 are not. So i changed the coil pack and the ht leads but still the same problem. I have check that there is a voltage on both sides of the input connection to the coil pack and there is.

Any suggestions will be muchly appreciated, thanks

from what you said the second coil pack isn't good either
get a multimeter and mesure both the old coil pack and the new one

Hi aurick86,

Thanks for your reply..... I didn't mention on my first post that i'm on my 2nd brand new coil pack. I've taken readings from them and getting identical readings from both sides. I've been advised that it could be the tdc/rpm sensor, do you think it's a possibility.

Thanks again

could be the tdc sensor but iirc if its working one coil both should be fine!.

swap the WORKING coil for the one thats not sparking and see if the spark follows the coil or stays on the same two cylinders.

if it follows the 'good' coil you defo need a new one again (even if its new get them to swap it). if it stays on the same cylinder but now working fromt he 'other' coil then there is a problem else where.

are you getting a pulse going into the both coils? if so it HAS to be the coil pack being dead, ORRRR the plug is not engaged/making good enough contact.

id leave the tdc alone, it doesnt control coil packs seperatly it just pulses away.

if it was the rpm sensor it wouldn't spark at all.
It's Not!

you said you have voltage going in both both sides of the coil pack.
then it just leaves the coil pack or the HT leads or spark plugs ..

or even bad contact ( but not likely .. that huge voltage would jump a small gap very easy )
