Hey everyone. My Fiat Bravo is ticking over too slow (low RPMs). I have tried rebooting the ECU but no improvement. It's down to about 300-800 rpm when idle/at traffic lights and then moving off and always feels like its about to stall.

Is there any other way to increase the RPMs?

Hey man thanks for the quick reply. It's a Fiat Bravo SX 1.2.

There is one light on the Dashboard that seems to stay on pretty much all the time, but does go off at times. It's the orange code light.

Sorry I missed typed 300, I meant between 500-800 RPMs. But it usually stays at that point. Although last night when the car started it stayed at 10,000 RPMs and sounded great (ticking over nicely) when I came to junctions etc... I think since I've only did about 10 mile since I rebooted the ECU that this might have been why. However by the time I got to the shops it was back down to 800 RPM when idle.

Does anyone have a photo of where the idle control valve is on a Fiat Bravo 1.2 so I can have a go at cleaning that, thanks.

It's attached to the throttle body.

If it idles steadily at 800 there is no problem whatsover. That's the normal idle speed afaik. The initial fluttering COULD be from the ecu learning the new engine. So give it a few more drives. As long as it doesn't overrev or falls dead it shouldn't be much of a problem.

(Also, I think you mean 1000 rpm? 10,000 would be a little excessive :D )

Cheers for the link I'll give it a look over.

Yeah that's what my mate said that 800 was about normal, it's just that it always feels/sounds like it's about to stall. I'll try given it a few more drives though since I reset the ECU and if I can get round to it clean the Idle Control Valve.

And yeah I'm crap with numbers I meant 1000 :D
