Hi I've had my V reg Brava for a year and never had the radio working (there is a casette jammed in). I don't think its the type that pulls out - any ideas how I can get it working/repaired. I would buy a new modern CD player/radio but can't see how it would fit it.

Sorry for sounding so niave, cars are a mans thing.

A new stereo will fit just fine, but you'll need to buy a fascia adaptor first. You can get complete kits on EBay that have everything you need to do the job. I only paid £8 for mine. It includes the wiring harness adaptor, fascia adaptor, ariel cable adapter and the tools to help you remove the original stereo. And i you buy the stereo locally they'll usually help you install it. It's not a difficult job, but space is a little limited to get all the wire gubbins tucked in out of the way.
Here you go :)

Anyone know where you push the removal keys in to remove the standard OE stereo in a 2001 Bravo? Got the keys on order and also got a new stereo plus facia plate but not too sure where the clips are to remove the old stereo....(Im a bit thick when it comes to this sort od thing

Hey BT

The keys slip in the tiny gap between the sides of the stereo and the dash vent surround.

If you have this type of tool you will feel them click into position with the retaining clips. Once they click in gently pull both tools towards you and the stero will come with them. (make sure you insert these tools the right way up)

you can see the retaining clips here attached to the stero;

You can use a cut up credit card or feeler gauges but the proper tool is a lot easier.

Thanks the info(y)

I will try and remove the standard stereo tomorrow. Bet its not as easy it appears! I have bought a set of keys off ebay but they look totally different from the picture posted. They are straight but looks like they have the same grooves....
I have an Alpine head unit to replace the standard one.
I will post later on and let you know how I get on:confused::idea:

Does anyone have a picture of the connections that the stereo plugs into?

I have a harness that came with the stereo which when searching on line looks very similar to what is needed but wondered if some has got a picture then I can confirm it will be ok. I don't want to have to solder/cut the loom if I can help it.
This is the same as I have (I think!!)
