HI all dont know whats wrong but the heater isnt working properly and the dial only goes up halfway between c and normal.any ideas and how to do the job would be appreciated

about the heater it might be a thermostat shut close but if that is the case the temp should rise very high. Does the fan kicks in alot? if that is the case the gauge might be faulty. Another thing, it might be air in the sytem.

Or the thermostat is blocked open and in that case the heather should work but gives heat after a long run with the car.

The dial only goes up a bit and very little heat is coming out.were do i find the thermostat and is it a big job to replace

The thermostat looks like this:


To find it go to the engine bay, put the right hand on the radiator, and follow the rubber tube that goes in the top of the radiator.
this should get you to the thermostat

Its located next to the battery. You will need to remove it for access. Once changed you will need to bleed the coolant.

First make sure the thermostat is faulty before you go changing it.

Are the coolant levels correct/Is there any air in the system?
