Clutch Slipping

MY clutch is slipping in my p reg 1.6 Bravo. Its not that bad at mo and has only done 31,000 genuine miles. Could it be a problem with the hydralics or fluid or is it just prob a worn clutch? Got a quote for 155 to get fixed which I think is reasonable but also need two new wishbones and 2 cvs. Dont have cash to get them all fixed. Do bravos suffer from common clutch problems?
Thanks

Not that i know of. Was this car idle for some time by any chance? Make sure aswell that it is the clutch and not the gearbox. I though it was clutch in my one, the revs would go nuts and the car would barely move! A week later my gearbox went and my clutch was perfect.

Re: Clutch Slipping

Check the slave cylinder, its bolted on top of the box, this could be fecked and causing your problem...

if you want some room, take the battery out and the tray...its on top of the gearbox, with a 'nipple' point upwards....you cant miss it just check that the rubber hasn't perished..
try bleeding it too, might help....
does it go in gear fine though ?

Re: Clutch Slipping

A faulty slave won't make your clutch slip. However if the car had been standing for a while it is possible for the clutch operating arm to partially seize up, holding the clutch half in. Although 31k is'nt a lopt of miles it's not exceptionally low, so could be it's just worn out.
