Brava 1.6 sx 100 2001.

I just took her for an mot and it failed on one thing, near side rear suspension bump stop cone (the thing the bump stop holds on to). It has rotted away, and not surprisingly as it is thin metal; imagine a cup off the top of a metal thermos flask, with the bump stop stuck to the bottom, that's about it.

Anyhow, the mot guy was talking to his buddy, saying it is structural and his mate seemed to disagree. My car failed its mot and he says it needs the rear sub frame replacing.

So is it structural or is it just a bump stop holder?

The bump stops on my Marea havent been attatched for the last five mots and its been tested at three different places.
