ive just bought K&N cone for my fiat bravo 1.2. but i have no idea where i fit it. could some one put some pictures up or diagrams etc.

Cheers Mark x

you should see an air filter box to the right of your engine bay, fairly straight foward to remove but its a pain because some of it is under the wing. well what i did was unscrew(unclip) the pipe from the airbox from the top and a pipe going into it from the bottom, i then unscrewed the top of the box, there should be two screws on the top. and then just trying to prize it out with a bit of force, you should have it out in no time, and the cone just basically replaces the filter box, which you have just removed, use the original pipe for the K&N cone to place on the end, with a Jubilee clip.

okay cheers. what replaces the pipe from the bottom? one of those little air filter things?

Are on about the breather pipe? There should be a piece for that to go onto the kit itself. I assume you got the listed part for the 1.2, that utilises the original air feed from the airbox to supply air to the filter. As above, you can take the whole box or leave it in, either way it will still supply sufficient air to the filter. There are other ways to install the K&N but this is the most straight foreward :)

i removed both pipes from original air box. removed airbox. fitted kn to top pipe. but what happens to bottom pipe? do i leave it hanging??

anything else i should do to ensure car runs properlly.

Does the filter have a piece sticking out for a breather pipe? If not you can use the ripspeed part and seal up the little pipe in the manifold (Ill see if I can dig up a pic)

Edit: Cant find an appropiate pic so here it goes: The breather pipe is beside the coil pack. Its a smallish pipe that goes 2 ways, one feeds through a long pipe into the main air pipe the other is a shorter piece going directly into the manifold. This short piece pulls straight out but be careful as its delicate enough. Use the long pipe as a feed to the breather part of the filter as the diameter is the right size to slot onto, (unless your unlucky and the pipes a different diameter) its a direct fit

well at the mintue the breather pipe is going from engine block into original pipe. and that pipe goes to kn filter. if i took breather pipe off there would be a whole left in orignal pipe from filter to engine block.

Im looking at the kit on the k&n website, there seems to be no place for a breather pipe on the filter pipe (my kit is custom fitted), if you can take a pic of the kit it would be a great help however it looks like youll have to put on the ripspeed element :)

i have kept the original pipe from fiat. and the breather pipe fits directly from the manifold to the pipe. was thinking if put the ripspeed element on there would be a whole in the orignial fiat pipe..
