Hi all

Hope everyone had a good holiday. I recently went to the Fiat dealership in Dundee asking about the whole red key saga, and whether or not I could get the ECU reprogrammed using a clone of blue key or not. He suggested I would need a new ECU at about £500. Fair enough! but he also mentioned that some cars came without the ECU and the code on my blue key would tell me this. He said if I had a number 2 on it then it would have come with a red key. My key has a symbol on it two circles with a triangle through it. Also it has a letter and 3 numbers. Does this mean anything to anyone - or is there an easy way to tell if the ECU exists.

I got my cousin to install my cd/mp3 player works great (couple of knives did the trick - so thanks for the suggestions). However, it keeps losing the memory I can see from the forum that it is to do with changing the wires around does anyone have instructions with pictures if possible.

I think the key with two circles and a triangle on it doesn't need a red key. I'm not sure why but I don't think it does. Someone with a more intelligent answer will come along soon

if its got a triangle circle and a 2 its second generation, it dont have a red key. red keys came with cars made between feb 1995 and some time in 2000

all cars have an ECU.
