Hi
has anyone used a strobe light to measure the ignition timing of the brava 1.4 ltr engine 80bhp at idling speed, both cold (that is just after start up) and warm? My readings are 0 degrees(that is TDC) when cold and about 1500 rpm (or thereabouts) and 3 degrees BTDC when warm at 850 rpm.
I know that timing is set by the ECU but these readings I got seem too retarded to me - and maybe may be the cause of high fuel consumption.
THANKS
Ian
