hi guys, my Brava has developed a very worrying problem. Driving home late last night & i noticed the steering wheel developed a bit of a wobble! But the more i drove the car the worse it got, but it only happens when i lift off the accelerator, by the time i got home i was literally fighting the steering wheel & it had developed a squeeking noise, any ideas what on earth is going on?

the car feels very unsafe to drive.

could be a wheel out of a balance or a bearing gone.

although saying that, I had a similar problem and a garage told me my driveshaft was about to snap in half get it checked at a garage as soon as - better to be safe than sorry

Wheelnuts all tight?

yeah, checked the wheel nuts yesterday - i felt a small bit of a wobble ealier in the day so pulled over. But last night was unreal.

I'm going to phone my local garage tomorrow & ask them to tow it in & get it checked, have to rely on my wife driving me to work now!

well the car has been towed & the local garage came back with a seized track rod end...does this make sence, & should i get them replaced even though the garage has freed it up now?

Siezed track rod end causing vibrating steering ..umh, sounds more like CV joint, but they should know, they have looked at the car.

a friend had this on his ages ago it turned out to be his cv joint and and ball joint on the bottom arm.
