My new door handles from Poland have arrived to replace the old cracked ones. I knocked the seller down from £20 each to £15 :) The only thing is, can anyone please find me a guide? I did find one before, one these forums I think but for the life of me can't any more. Also, do I just use the old lock and put it in the hole in this handle?

Yes use your original lock.

What you mean paint them up?

Also, is there any clear coating like a lacquer that I can cover them with to protect them even further, like clear nail varnish but better :yum:

I saw these ones on ebay but I wasn't sure which ones they were, there's a few different models. Are these the rubber ones or the hard plastic ones? You can tell the plastic ones because the shroud over the lock doesn't bend at all, whereas there's about a millimeter of give in the rubber one if you push on it. I was thinking about buying some myself, but I've already got one of the rubber ones and I wanted one to match :-/

They don't feel like plastic, they have a grippy like texture so I'm presumming they are rubber. Also, I don't think I'll need to paint them because my car is black.

I just didn't want the rubbers wearing down so fast like the old ones so I wanted to coat them in something to protect them.

They only perish when you use stupid oil based treatments and chemicals on them. Aslong as all that touches the handles is car wash soap, water and rain then they'll last you a good few years.
