Re: Shock Absorber HLEP

Fiat actually don't make shocks. They are just rebranded in fiat packaging. I recommend KYB Shock absorbers. They are factory fit on alot of prestiege(sp) cars and low priced. Try www.buypartsby.co.uk for prices.

Re: Shock Absorber HLEP

thank you for your answer, any one have another recommendation?

Re: Shock Absorber HLEP

I think FIAT original equipment are by Magnetti Marelli, you can find these without going to FIAT.

There are lots of good manufacturers of replacement shocks for these cars: Monroe, Sachs/Boge (my recommendation), Unipart, KYB, etc.

Hi,

I have the same question, as I'm thinking to buy KYB 333750 shocks to replace front shocks. Are they a good choice ?

As I understand, they are gas - filled shocs. Is the original part also gas-filled or is it hydraulic?

Should I replace the dust protector and mounting etc. too? The car is 13 years old.

Thanks,
Zardo

You can buy gas or oil filled kyb shock absorbers. No matter whether they are gas or oil you'll feel a huge difference. I never replaced my dust protector or mountings, but only because they looked fine. If you think they need replacing, then replace them at the same time you change your shocks.

Thanks!

Does one really have to re-allign wheel geometry after changing shocks, as long as one makes markings on the mounts and put everything in as it was before?

Not unless your lowering the car too.

Re: Shock Absorber HLEP

ok thanks. I just ordered KYB 333750 (front) and 344115 (behind) for my old Bravo, so it will be gas shocks... and I'm 200 Euros down now... but it's necessary as the old shocks won't absorb the slightest bump anymore

Hi All,
is any one heard about LIP Shock Absorber or add experience with them? see links attached

http://www9.qha.com/uk/technical/othercatalogues.htm

When I worked at my local Motor Factors, we supplied LIP Shock Absorbers, they are about the same quality as your O.E ones.

If I was keeping my ride height standard I would use these. To my knowledge they don't make shocks for lowered suspension.
