it pulls off but i'd wear a full face helmet when you do it unless you want a broken nose :D

will it not damage anythin just pullin it off?

plus i'll take the broken nose if need be, mods come first :slayer:

cheers for the reply too:worship:

Yes, it's only mounted VEEEERY VEEEERY firmly to the gear shaft...
Ah, and I was lucky, as the knob hit me on the forehead...
God Save Custom Knobs :worship: (with their screws :worship: )

Some people have cut theres off with a hacksaw through the rubber as they feared breaking it by pulling it too hard.

sawing is excactly whats done with mine :s... kinda crappy...

As you are sawing, instead of sawing only the knob, saw off 3-4cm of gear shaft, then install the custom knob. It's a NO cost mod, it give a racing look at your car and is also useful, as the shortened gear lever will permit faster gear changes. :slayer:

heh... it kinda done... as i have know (ofc from previous owner) that dont lift, sits on the gear stick with basically highest place (about 1 cm total loss in hight with knob ;) )

cheers for the replies people
opted for the hacksaw route and took an extra inch an half off the rod

looks brill, will be posting picks soon along with my new wheels

cheers

I found this out by complete accident one day, when getting stressed by people rushing me when I was parking on my drive.

If you pull hard enough the whole gear knob and gaiter will come off in your hand...the gear knob is held on using a kind of grip type thread.
