Was using the car today and had real trouble getting into forward gears. Eventually it just wouldn't go into forward gears but would go into reverse!

Called AA out and he said the clutch had gone. He then fiddled about with the car a bit more and the gears started working again.

Seems okay now, but any ideas what the problem was? Maybe clutch hydraulics or gearbox selector mech?

DOH! Had my Cinq 1 day, and after 5 minutes of driving it simply REFUSED to go into first gear! As i was in a queue of traffic, most of which had driven off and left me, it was rather embarassing! After selecting reverse the car had no complaints about selecting first; i believe this all to be down to the shoddy gear mechanics and nothing else. Notchiest box i've ever experienced, and also the most embarassing two minutes of my life! Sorry i cant help u much, but at least u know u arent alone on this one!
